• Clean Water. Lasting Impact.

Bringing safe water closer to communities

Access to clean water is essential for health, education and everyday life. Yet many families in Uganda still rely on unsafe water sources or walk long distances to collect it. 22STARS invests incommunity boreholes that bring cleaner, more reliable water closer to children and families.

  • Our Impact.

    6 boreholes completed

So far, 6 water boreholes have been completed through 22STARS across the communities we work with in Kampala and Jinja. Each serves a different area near our centres and is built under an MOU with the respective landowner to ensure community access. Where children once walked long distances for water that was often unsafe, families now have cleaner, more reliable water much closer to home.

    Why It Matters.

    Clean water changes everyday life

Reliable access to clean water can improve health and hygiene, reduce exposure to unsafe water and save families valuable time collecting it. A properly constructed and maintained borehole is along-term investment that can serve children, families and the wider community for many years.

    Beyond Boreholes.

    Clean water at home

Alongside our boreholes, we have distributed over 150 household water filters to families in our communities, helping makedrinking water safer at home while we continue investing in larger, long-term water infrastructure.

  • Our Next Goal.

Help us build the next borehole

There are still communities without a safe and reliable water source nearby. A complete borehole typically costs €8,000–€11,000, depending on the location, drilling depth, geological conditions and exchange rate.

Based on one of our recent borehole budgets:

€625 — Government water authority assessment & supervision
    €750 — Geological survey
    €3,125 — Drilling
€1,250 — Civil works & securing the well
    €1,750 — Pump & water quality testing
    €2,500 — Pump installation, piping & equipment

    TOTAL ESTIMATED COST
    €10,000 / 40,000,000 UGX

Whether funded by one donor or many people contributing together, your support can help bring clean, reliable water closer to another community.
