Susan Laker in Kampala and Aidah Nambozo in Jinja lead our community-based organisations, Shooting Stars and Shining Stars, together with local boards of parents and community members. They know the families, shape the programmes and report on progress, with training and support from the foundation.

Older children and alumni take on responsibility in their communities. They mentor younger children, help at the centres and organise their own projects, building confidence, teamwork and leadership skills along the way.

Our young leaders organised a clean-up in their own community, collecting rubbish together and showing how small actions can create a cleaner, healthier place to live.

We want to offer more training, mentoring and small project budgets so that more young people and parents can take the lead. Your support helps the next generation of leaders grow.
