    22STARS was founded thanks to the friendship of Susan Laker, Aidah Wafula (Ugandan) and Stella Airoldi (Dutch/German). The trio met for the first time in Uganda in 2009. Witnessing over years how much entrepreneurship and education impacted the life of Susan, was the biggest inspiration and motivation for them to start this Foundation. 22STARS is registered in the Netherlands as an ANBI Foundation (public benefit organisation), and in Uganda as a Grassroot / CBO organisation.

     

    Our mission is to empower family in Uganda by using an integrated approach to focus on the development of economic, social, natural, human, and cultural capital. 22STARS collaborates with communities in Acholi Quarter in the capital Kampala, and in Danida in the Jinja region, who live in extreme poverty after having fled conflict zones in Northern Uganda and neighbouring countries.

    We focus on a holistic approach to education. Besides sponsoring a child, we run additional programs throughout the year benefitting all children and the community they live in. Make a recurring or one-time donation to a program of your choice.

    Support our emergency needs!

     

    Life does not always go as planned. We do whatever it takes to be there for the children and fundraise for specific causes. These emergencies vary from food supply, mosquito nets, shoes, mattresses and life threatening medical care. Fight with us against poverty and support the most urgent needs.
