👁️ What if a child simply can’t see?
Not because they are sick.
Not because they are not trying.
But because no one ever tested their eyes.
This is the reality for many children in Uganda.

Two weeks ago, I, Stella Airoldi, sat together with our long term partners.
Discussing the current situation in Uganda and new plans.
And once again, they said yes.

Together with
WIR HELFEN SEHEN and Walzer Optik,
we are bringing eyesight testing and glasses
directly to the children.
✨ The moment that changes everything
There is one moment I will never get used to:
A child puts on glasses for the first time.
They look around.
They smile.
Sometimes they just pause in silence.
Because suddenly…
they can see.
👓 Why this matters for education
All children in this program are part of the 22stars Foundation.
Over 550 children are currently supported in:
• Primary school
• Secondary school
• Vocational training
And many of them have been struggling in school
for one simple reason:
They cannot see the blackboard.
Often caused by dusty environments, and the lack of electricity at home, forcing them to read and study with very limited light.
💡 A small solution. A massive impact.
With one eyesight test and one pair of glasses, a child can:
• Follow lessons again
• Improve performance
• Gain confidence
• Stay in school long term
This is not complex.
But it changes everything.
📍 What happens next
End of April, I will be back in Uganda for 1 month.
This time, together with:
• A professional photographer
• A professional videographer
We will document everything:
• Eye tests
• Glasses distribution
• Before and after impact
