Join Us at the Local Church In Jinja

Sunday mass at local church in Jinja
· Jinja,Holistic Education
Today we will take you to the church in Danida in Jinja, where our second project location is!
In these pictures you see the church from the outside and inside, you see pastor David Wafula preaching and you see some of our 22stars families. As we speak we have 125 children sponsored in this area and about 45 families who participated in our small business trainings and micro loans.

Uganda is a religiously diverse nation, with Christianity being the most widely professed religion. According to the 2014 census, over 84 percent of the population was Christian while about 14 percent of the population adhered to Islam, making it the largest minority religion.

At the 22STARS Foundation we are neutral, hence we are open for all religions and also non religions.  However for many of our 22STARS members religion is a very important part of their life.

People in general are free to believe in whatever they believe and are very respectful and open minded towards others, whether they are religious or not.

At our program in Kampala the chuch plays a less prominent role, since people go to different churches or don't go at all. But at our program in Jinja going to church it is quite important, as the initial group of women we started our program was already an established group of women from the same church. Hence in the beginning, before we had our own office, we would implement our programs in the local church.

Every Sunday the whole community comes together to go to mass.
The people dress up nicely, sing and pray together and many inspirational and motivational stories are shared by the church leaders. We really love those stories and see how they strengthen the community and give hope.
