The January Photo:
EDUCATION IS KEY

In this image, you can see our sponsored children from 22STARS at the Abba School in Jinja, where we build a school dormitory for them, thanks to a large donation of Das Freiheitspaket. The photo was captured by Kirsten Dünner, also known as Lily, an analog photographer who joined our Social Impact Trip in
2024. Her work reflects a mindful and timeless way of seeing the world,
capturing honest, unposed moments from life in Uganda.

Building Dreams with the “Freiheitspaket”

The New Dormitory at Abba Father Junior School

In Jinja, the need for a school with a dormitory had been growing for a long time.

For many children, the situation at home had become increasingly challenging. Safe, stable environments were not always guaranteed, making it difficult for them to focus on their education. At the same time, the schools we were working with in Jinja did not have boarding facilities.

This changed in 2024.

Thanks to the incredible support of the Freiheitspaket team, we were able to complete a brand new dormitory at Abba Father Junior School. A milestone that is already transforming lives.

A Place That Feels Like Home

Imagine stepping into a space that feels safe, calm, and welcoming.

That is exactly what this dormitory provides.

Gone are the days of overcrowded and poorly ventilated sleeping areas. The new building offers spacious, well ventilated rooms with a comfortable indoor climate, located on the first floor for added safety and privacy.

This is more than just a dormitory.

It is a place where children can rest, feel secure, and simply be children. A place where they can dream.

Real Impact on Everyday Life

The difference is already visible.

Students are happier, more energized, and more focused. With improved living conditions, health issues have decreased, allowing them to fully concentrate on their education and personal growth.

Currently, the dormitory houses 60 pupils, including both 22stars Foundation supported children and other students from the school.

And this is just the beginning.

With space for up to 50 triple bunk beds, the dormitory is ready to welcome even more students, especially those transitioning from P6 to P7 in the coming years.

How It All Began

The project started in January 2024 with a clear goal: to build a safe and modern dormitory for the children in Jinja.

Led by Mr. Wafula David and Mrs. Nambozo Aidah, the journey was not without challenges. But through strong collaboration, determination, and shared vision, the team brought this project to life.

A Huge Thank You to Our Partners

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and generosity of the Freiheitspaket teams of 2022 and 2023.

A special thank you goes to
Tanja Baumann
Ricco Groß
Jonas Henfling
Stella
André Marks
and the entire team who contributed to making this dream a reality.

For the final donation that allowed us to complete the project, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 2023 Freiheitspaket team, especially André Marks, Ricco Groß, Tina Hennig, Melis Alkis, Tonia Heinrich, and everyone else involved.

From Foundation to Future

Every part of this dormitory was carefully planned and executed.

From bricks, sand, cement, and iron sheets forming the structure
to durable doors, windows, and roofing ensuring safety
to beds and mattresses turning the space into a true home

With a total budget of €30,038.75, we were able to build not just one, but two dormitories, significantly expanding our impact.

Looking Ahead

The gratitude from the school administration has been overwhelming. What once felt like an impossible dream is now a reality.

This project is a powerful example of what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose.

And we are not stopping here.

We remain committed to creating opportunities for every child. To building environments where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

Because every child deserves not just an education, but a safe place to call home.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

"Education is the key to fight poverty and diseases."
